Here at Carlisle Customs & Classics (CCC), we are an awarding winning dedicated automotive restoration and custom builder, with a national following of customers who send their prized custom, classic, antique, and exotic cars, trucks, and motorcycles to receive a wide array of automotive services. We provide a one-stop-shop for customers who can trust our team to do everything from locate a vehicle for them to build, to smaller repairs on original or previously restored vehicles, to full frame-off restorations, custom built street rods, resto-mods, and coach builds. CCC offers the following services: full automotive design and concept creation; mechanical repairs and engine installs & swaps; suspension repairs; modifications; and customization; metal repair and fabrication; body work; paint; fiberglass work; electrical and wiring; custom paint and refinishing services; interior design and upholstery services; and automotive detailing.

If you enjoy working on cars, trucks, and motorcycles from all makes, models, eras, and parts of the world, you will love the variety of vehicles built by CCC.  Currently at CCC our team of craftsman are working on over twenty large scale restorations and custom builds, ranging from a 1935 Bugatti inspired one-off coach build, to all original restorations on one-owner vehicles and family heirlooms, to resto-mod Corvettes, Mustangs, and Trucks, to street rods, to modern American Muscle. Here at CCC we consider ourselves lucky to work on a large variety of vehicles, and to offer such an extensive amount of different style restorations and custom builds, and to have a consistent customer base that allows us to focus our business around building so many high-quality, detailed oriented, and unique restorations and customs.

We are willing to compensate and assist in relocation costs for qualified candidates. Carlisle Customs & Classics is located in beautiful central Pennsylvania, right outside of Carlisle, home to Carlisle Events where hundreds of thousands of car enthusiast come from all over the world to attend the world's largest automotive swap meet and several car shows throughout the spring and summer months. This area is great for raising a family, with reasonable real estate prices, lower cost of living, great schools, and very low crime rates. Carlisle and Harrisburg have a number of restaurants, theaters, museums, and shopping. Having relocated the shop here from Brooklyn, New York over twenty-years ago, Vinny will vouch for the fact that the laid back and relaxed pace is an adjustment from city life, but is an adjustment that is easy to embrace. 

We are looking to hire immediately and want to add team members who are passionate about the automotive restoration and custom profession and industry, who are responsible, who can work together as a member of a cohesive team, and who are looking to create a long-term career with Carlisle Customs & Classics! ALL POSITIONS WILL BE COMPENSATED BASED ON EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET. EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON AN HOURLY BASIS EVERY TWO WEEKS. HOURLY RATES UP TO $35.00 PER HOUR BASED ON EXPERIENCE LEVEL. HEALTH BENEFITS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN 2021.

Interior Design & Upholstery Team Position Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with leather, vinyl, fabric, canvas, and other materials

  • Ability to disassemble and deconstruct original interior seats, panels, etc.

  • Ability to strip original seats, preserve necessary hardware for patterning and construction

  • Ability to repair seat frame and reconstruct seat frames and foams 

  • Ability to sculpt seat foam

  • Ability to pattern and construct custom seat covers, door panels, kick panels, truck panels, etc. 

  • Ability to install Dynamat, Jute or other Sound Deadner and carpet

  • Installation of pre-fabricated original style interior upholstery covers and panels

  • Automotive Interior Design

  • Custom console design and fabrication

  • Custom overhead console design and fabrication

  • Custom trunk panel design and fabrication

  • Installation of pre-made convertible tops 

  • Design and fabricate custom convertible tops

  • Install pre-made headliner

  • Design and fabricate custom headliners

  • Install vinyl tops

  • Design and fabricate custom Carson tops

Metal Repair & Fabrication Team Position Qualifications:

  • Automotive body panel replacement

  • Ability to Align Panels, Doors, Fenders, Etc.

  • Ability to shape patch panels.

  • Ability to fabricate custom panels for body fabrication or custom interior and engine compartment panels

  • File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and welding equipment

  • Weld replacement parts into place

  • TIG & MIG Welding Experience

  • Aluminum Panel Repair and Welding Experience

Body Work Team Position Qualifications:

  • Expert Level Body (Filler) Work As Necessary

  • Block sanding fillers and primers

  • High temperature body filler work for frames and parts to be powder coated

  • Experience in creating flawless foundation and seamless gaps

  • Prepared to HAND block sand all surfaces at least three times before final paint

Paint Team Position Qualifications:

  • Ability to properly prepare and tape vehicle for paint

  • Apply primer and sealers to body and parts

  • Apply stock paint applications

  • Apply Kandy, Pearl, and Tri-Stage paint applications 

  • Apply two-tone paint applications

  • Apply flames, ghost flames, and other graphics

  • Apply pinstripes or airbrushed graphics

  • Ability to wet sand and buff final paint fishes

Vehicle Disassembly & Assembly Team Position Qualifications:

  • Ability to disassemble original vehicle in order to preserve and inventory parts

  • Ability to evaluate part condition to determine if parts should be replaced, repaired/refurbished, or used in original condition

  • Ability to build vehicle using organized and efficient process

  • Ability to use ultimate care when reassembling vehicle

  • Detailing, buffing, and final inspection of vehicle

Mechanical & Suspension Team Position Qualifications:

  • Engine tune-up and top end rebuilding

  • Removing engine and components to prepare for engine rebuilder

  • Installing rebuilt engine and new or refurbished components

  • Installing crate engines 

  • Installing modern engines and components in classic and antique vehicles

  • Designing engine mounts, headers, and other components to accommodate engine swaps

  • Removing transmissions to be sent to rebuilders

  • Installing transmission (original or aftermarket)

  • Installing transmission shifter

  • Installing radiators and heating and cooling equipment

  • Installing aftermarket air conditioning

  • Installing stock and aftermarket windshield wiper motors, squirters, arms, etc.

Suspension Team Position Qualifications:

  • Reinforce and Modify original frame and suspension

  • Install control arms, trailing arms, stabilizers

  • Install partial suspension kits and subframe kits

  • Install Disc Brake Conversion Kits

  • Install Air Ride Suspension and Air Shock Kits and Components

  • Install four wheel drive components and lift kits
